This Friday's Wapello Community School District Staff Feature Friday spotlight's Ms. Michelle Wade! Ms. Wade is our Activities Director and Technology Coordinator for the Wapello Community School District. In her dual role within the district, she is tasked with keeping our technology devices and network functioning in addition to coordinating all of the activities and athletic events for the district. Her role is one that is behind the scenes, but she has two critical jobs within our district that require a lot of flexibility and that change at the drop of a hat.
Ms. Wade previously taught Business Education and then transitioned to the Activity Director and Technology Coordinator position last year. She has a combined 8 years of teaching experience, and 6 of those years have been spent at the Wapello Community School District. Ms. Wade holds an A.A. Degree from Hesston College, a Bachelor's Degree in Communications from Goshen College, a Bachelor's Degree in Sport Management from Buena Vista University as well as her Iowa Teaching License.
Her family includes her mother Shirley, along with her brother Jameson, sister-in-law Andrea, along with her to nephews that she absolutely adores, Cooper and Trey. In her spare time, you will find Ms. Wade making trips to Pennsylvania to visit her brother and his family. She also enjoys reading, writing, watching any kind of sporting events, and when time allows, she likes to take in a good movie.
Our last question for Ms. Wade was, "What do you like about working at the Wapello Community School District? Her response was, "I like working with a forward-thinking staff, who seek ways to improve student achievement every day. I like that every day, I am challenged to learn something new, explore a different set of options, and help develop a growth mindset."
