Wapello Community Schools are reaching out to you today to inform you of the loss of Natalie McCleary, a student at Louisa Muscatine, a neighboring school. Our thoughts and hearts are with the community as they navigate this tragedy.
On Thursday, December 8, Mr. Peterson, Mr. Bohlen, and Ms. Eakins met with the students of Wapello Junior High School and Wapello High School to provide support, comfort, and information about common reactions following a death and how adults can help youths cope. Counseling services are available for any student who may need or want any type of help surrounding this loss. We encourage you, as parents and guardians, to contact Ms. Eakins if you feel your student needs support.

The Wapello CSD food pantry will be open Thursday, December 8th from 3:45 - 5:00. We have milk as well as a variety of other dairy items. We ask that you remain in your car until your number is called and limit your shopping time to 10 minutes in order to help things go as smooth as possible.
Just a reminder, students will be dismissed today at 1:00 p.m. for staff professional development.
