“Work hard for what you receive.” Words of advice to underclassmen from senior Maddox Griffin. While at WHS, Maddox has certainly worked hard and stayed active in many extracurricular activities. He has participated in football, basketball, track, and baseball. Maddox is also a member of National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Mr. Murray is the teacher who made an impact on Maddox’s life at WHS. He says Mr. Murray “Taught me to work hard and I learned a lot in his class, not just social studies but about life. He made learning fun.” Next year, Maddox will attend Upper Iowa University to continue his basketball career and is open minded about his career path. Maddox is the son of David and Kori Griffin. Good Luck, Maddox!

Lindsy Massner is the youngest daughter of Troy and Joni Massner. During her time at WHS, she has been involved in volleyball, basketball, track and field, and marching, jazz, and pep band. She is also a member of the National Honor Society and Student Council. Lindsy’s advice to underclassmen is to “Be involved, be respectful, and get your work done on time.” Lindsy names Mr. Parsons as her most influential teacher saying, “Parsons is a teacher who truly cares about each and everyone of his students. He is willing to do anything for a student/athlete even if he won’t receive anything in return. Parsons is someone who I always can go to for advice or someone to talk to. He always gives the best advice and I walk away from the conversation in a better mood.” After graduation, Lindsy plans to attend Indian Hills Community College to become an Occupational Therapist Assistant! Best wishes, Lindsy!
