2021 Senior Spotlight: As the Seniors have their last day of school today, the Senior Spotlight is to Dawson Lee Holmes. He is the son of Jamie and Aaron Holmes. While in high school, Dawson has been involved in Track and Baseball for one year, and four years in Football and Basketball. Dawson is undecided on this plans after graduation, but sites Mr. Dunham as the teacher who has had the greatest impact on him. This is because “he helped me learn [through] a lot of hands on work.” Dawson’s advice to underclassmen is “Always listen to the teachers and turn work in on time.” Congratulations and best of luck in future.

Here is some important information regarding the Class of 21 Graduation Ceremonies scheduled for Sunday (5-23-21) afternoon. At this time, we are planning for an outdoor ceremony to be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Carl "Mac" McGill Athletic Complex on the Football Field. If there is inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved to the WHS Gymnasium. Any change in these plans will be posted on our website, social media feeds, and mobile app through a push notification.
Each Senior will receive 6 tickets which will allow 6 family members to sit in the designated area on the field. Each Senior will be given a number that was randomly selected informing family members what “box” they will be sitting in. Any family members over 6 can sit in the back of the graduates or up in the stands. The gates to the football field will open at 1:00 on Sunday.
If we hold graduation inside, each student will have 6 tickets and remaining seating will be by first come first serve. Doors to the high school would open at 1:00.

2021 Senior Spotlight: Today’s final Senior Spotlight is Levi Leibli. He is the son of David Leibli. After graduation, Levi plans to get a full time job and move into his own small house. The teacher responsible for making an impact in Levi’s life is Mr. Marshall. This is because “[he] helped me keep my grades up and made me work hard.” Levi’s advice to underclassmen is “Good luck! [It’s] not easy but you will make it.” Congratulations and best wishes for the future to Levi!

2021 Senior Spotlight: Today’s rainy day Senior Spotlight kicks off with Danielle Anne Durlacher Miller. She is the daughter of Diane Vieria and Daniel Durlacher. While in high school Danielle has been active in Football Cheerleading and Track for one season, and Choir for two years. After graduation she plans to begin working towards a Masters in Psychology at MCC, then transfer to a university. Danielle says the teachers who have influenced her the most while at Wapello is Mrs. Moulton and Mrs. Gerot, “They’re both really kind and were always there to listen and help me when I needed it.” Her advice to underclassmen is to “always work on any assignments during free time in class, you’ll never have to bring homework home with you.” Congratulations and best of luck to Danielle in the future.

2021 Senior Spotlight: Our second Senior Spotlight is Kylie Rebecca Wilson. She is the daughter of Brock and Kim Wilson. While in school, Kylie has been active in Football Cheerleading, Volleyball and NHS for two years, and Basketball for three years. After graduation, she plans to attend the University of Iowa for business. The staff members who have had the greatest impact on Kylie are Mrs. Marshall and Ms. Philp. This is because “they were always willing to help me make sure that I was doing what I needed to succeed.” Her advice to underclassmen is “don’t stress about things that you can’t change.” Congratulations to Kylie as she prepares for her graduation.

CORRECTION: Tonight's Boys Soccer game is AT Tipton. There was some confusion as one of the Facebook posts had it at home. It will begin at 5:30 pm.
