The Wapello Indians will kick off the 2022 season tonight when they welcome the Wildcats from Durant High School to the Carl "Mac" McGill Athletic Complex. The first pitch is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. in the JV contest, followed by the varsity. It will be a beautiful night for baseball, come cheer on the Indians as they look for the first win of the season!

If you would like to order a boys state golf T-shirt please email Jason.marshall@wapellocsd.org. Cost will be $15. Shirts will be white with school/state design on front and golfers names on the back. Due to quick ordering all orders will need to be submitted by noon Tuesday so they will arrive by Friday.

Coy Peters is the oldest son of Derek Peters and Sarah Dotson is a 2022 graduate of Wapello High School.
Coy is an active four wheel rider and enjoys spending time with his younger brother, Crew.
After high school, Coy plans to attend Muscatine Community College.

Match play is already underway, but we want to send our wishes for Good Luck to our Indians Golf Team as they play today to keep moving towards the State Tournament. The Indians are playing at the IHSAA District Golf Meet in Iowa City today at the Pleasant Valley Golf Course. Good Luck Indians, bring home the Gold today!

Ashton Carr, the son of Amy Carr, is a 2022 graduate of Wapello Community School.
Ashton credits Mr. Parsons as the most influential teacher. “He pushed me to make gains.”
With undecided plans for after graduation, Ashton is going to live life while he explores his options.

“Stay true to yourself.” Something Dakota Lamb did will walking the halls of WHS. Dakota was a member of the Indians basketball team while in high school. He states, “Mr. Spielbauer taught me a lot about hard work and staying dedicated to your goals.
Dakota is the son of Trishia Lamb and Tim Lamb. After graduating from high school, Dakota plans to enter the workforce. Do great things, Dakota!

“Get your work done so it won’t cause you stress all weekend.” Words of wisdom from graduating senior, Daniel Perez. Daniel is the son of Maria and Cecilio Perez.
During his time at WHS, Daniel was active in football, soccer and track. Mr. Parsons is the teacher who had the biggest impact on Daniel’s high school career. “Mr. Parsons motivates me to workout with a purpose to better myself and become a better athlete.”
Daniel is currently exploring his future options after graduation. Best of luck to you, Daniel!

State Track will have an outstanding showing of our Track and Field Athletes, Elementary Vocal Concerts, PBIS Fun Day at the Elementary, and Baseball starts this week too! Come cheer on the students at one or more of the many events this week!

Grades 3-5 Concert is also Tuesday, May 17 @ 6pm. HS auditorium. Please have your child meet in the HS music room at 5:40pm. Music shirts will be handed out right before the concert.
Concert admission will be a free will donation.
The Indians Soccer team will be the number 6 seed in this year's SEISC Tournament. The Indians will face off with Columbus, the number 3 seed tonight at 7:00 p.m. at Columbus High School (NOTE THE CHANGE IN LOCATION AND TIME) for the first round action.
