There will not be any concession stand tonight at Washington for the basketball scrimmage. Vending machines will be available.

Kindergarten has had a busy week! We have been preparing for our Thanksgiving Feast taking place next Tuesday by learning about the Mayflower voyage, Pilgrims, and Native Americans. We made our turkey shirts, placemats, Pilgrims hats, and Indian vests. 🦃 We also talked about all the things we are grateful for. The WES staff added fun to the week by staging an Underground Spirit Week! Our students looked forward to coming into class each morning to see what we were going to be wearing next!

Earlier this month, 4 students from WHS attended and competed in the Junior Achievement Stock Market Challenge at St. Ambrose University in Davenport. Although they were in the top 5 of all teams through the entire first half of the competition, they finished in 24th place out of 68 teams. Though disappointed to have fallen down in the rankings at the end of the competition, the students enjoyed the experience and learned a lot. Congratulations, Alexander Chapman, Alex Kisner, Jaime Prado, and Edgar Vazquez on representing yourselves and your school well!

If you didn't make it to the 3rd Annual Wapello Wax Museum during Conferences two weeks ago, you missed out! Students in grades 2-8 who are in Wapello's Talented and Gifted classes researched an individual, created a display board about them, and dressed up like their character. During conferences, they shared what they had learned throughout the process. Congratulations to all of the students who participated on a job well done! #wearewapello #wapellotribepride
