When you see Emma Dunham and Justin Litchfield give them a high five!! Emma and Justin competed Feb. 8th in the Special Olympics, where they scored a blue and red ribbon respectively for their basketball skills. Emma will compete in March at the State Special Olympics. #wearewapello #tribepride

We have one final FFA Award that we want to recognize coming from the Wapello FFA. Lydia Fisher ran and applied for District Officer of the Southeast Iowa District. After interviews, Lydia made the ballot and will be giving a 2-minute speech on March 14th for the chance to represent the district. Lydia will be running for SE District Vice President. Please help us to congratulate Lydia on her accomplishment and wish her the best of luck on March 14!

Congratulations to Brantly Palmer, Christopher Ewart, and Tyler Cooley! They will all be awarded the Iowa FFA Degree at the Iowa FFA Leadership Conference later this spring. The Iowa FFA Degree is the highest highest award that the state can bestow upon its members. Please help us to congratulate these three members of the Wapello FFA on their accomplishment!

The Wapello FFA will have two entries in the State Proficiency Awards this spring. Kabe Boysen won 1st place at the District Contest and will advance to the State Competition with his Swine Production, Entrepreneurship Proficiency Award Application. Tyler Cooley won 1st Place at the District Contest and will advance to the State Competition with his Swine Production, Placement Proficiency Award Application. Agricultural Proficiency Awards honor FFA members who, through their Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) programs have developed specialized skills that they can apply toward their future careers.

Indians Wrestling at Sectional 16 tournament at West Branch


Today’s sectional wrestling tournament was quite successful for the Indians! Five wrestlers will move on the District tournament next weekend in Wilton. Dawson Tipps (2nd), Chase Witte (1st), Mitchell Moore (1st), Christopher Ewart (1st), and Daniel Meeker have secured their spot in the Districts. But not before the Indians travel to Lisbon on Tuesday for a 6:00 pm dual Regional tournament. Today’s runner up finish (212) qualifies them for the Regional tournament where they’ll face Lisbon.
