WHS junior Matthew Peterson will be joining 600 other high school students as they participate in the Panther Band Day at UNI November 9. Band Day is a long standing tradition at UNI that gives high school students an opportunity to join the 200+ member Panther Marching Band playing on the field at half time of a home football game. #wearewapello #fiep #stillnotdoneyet

The concerns people have voiced recently are certainly understandable and as a parent I share them, but I feel it’s important for me also as an educator in the school district to reassure you Wapello Community Schools offer a safe, positive and productive learning environment. Students are more likely to learn in a safe learning environment – one in which they feel valued and protected, which is why all of us need to remain positive and work together to promote the childrens’ academic, social and emotional progress inside and outside the classroom.
