Tonight’s Varsity Wrestling meet will be AT MUSCATINE. This is a change from the original schedule. It is a conference dual for Muscatine and Burlington. The meet is at Muscatine HS beginning at 6:00 PM

Congratulations to our Athletic Trainer and her husband, Lishay and Chris Allen on the birth of their son and for being the first baby of 2019 at Great River Medical Center! Lishay is the Certified Athletic Trainer serving Wapello High School provided by Great River Health Systems. We wish you the best in 2019 with your new bundle of joy! The Post Prom Committee will again be hosting a dessert silent auction during the basketball games Friday night beginning at 5:30. Come check out the goodies for your holiday gatherings!!

Wapello, Mediapolis and Great River Health Systems are joining forces for Friday Dec. 21st basketball games. Bring in your gently used medical equipment to the game to donate each school will get the equipment from their fans to be used at the school. For more info check out our website!


Wapello has a full night of basketball again tonight! JV Girls kick off the night at 4:30 in the main gym, then the Varsity Girls and JV Boys (practice) take the floor at 6:00. The night closes out with the Varsity Boys on the main floor! Come enjoy a rousing night of basketball, buy a chance to win a dessert and bring your gently used medical equipment.

Elementary parents, you are welcome to come watch our mini sing-along in the Elementary gym.
Starts at 8:30, will end around 9:00.

“Player of the Week” nominees for 12/10-14 are James Wykert (wr), Keaton Mitchell (bb) and Eryka Dickey (gb). For 12/17-21 are Caden Thomas (bb), Chase Witte (wr), and Brekyn Mears (gb). Congratulations to these six stellar student athletes!





Another example of the great things happening at Wapello High School. Pictured below are some students who are building a garden shed in one of the Industrial Tech Classes taught by Mr. Dunham. Real world learning opportunities for our students allow them to be prepared for the future.

Mrs Brockway’s tribe delivered fleece blankets to the wapello nursing home. The students made these and donated them for Christmas.
