Class of 2027 & their Parents/Guardians:
There has been a change in format to the Class of 2027 Meeting. As you know, Mike Simpson's visitation is Tuesday night and Ms. Eakins wants to give families and students the opportunity to attend if they wish.
So, the format for the class meeting will be in an online format - Ms. Eakins will share the presentation and talk through the information. There will be a link to allow parents / guardians to sign up for time to meet with the school counselor to ask questions that apply to their situations.
Please look for an email and social media post with the presentation and thank you for your flexibility!

Rylin Springsteen is our 1st grade, “Star of the Week!” She shared her dog, Sadie! 1st grade loved playing with her! Rylin did a great job reading her favorite book, “My Goodnight Book.”
A reminder that this week is our mental health awareness and Gray Matters Collective kickoff week.
The Indian Marching Band is heading home with a third place finish at the Mt Pleasant Marching Band Invitational. I want to give these kids a MAJOR shoutout as they were the only 1A/2A band to perform their music memorized this evening. That is a huge step in helping us prepare for state festival.
Wapello will not have school on Wednesday, due to the funeral service for Mike Simpson, HS English teacher.

The Indian Marching Band will be on the road tomorrow with their performance at the Mt Pleasant Marching Band Invitational. Performance time is 6:15pm. The band would like to dedicate their performance to Mr. Simpson to honor his impact on all of us. #MarchingForMike
Volleyball fans: Tonight's Fresh/Soph game has been canceled. JV and Varsity will still compete, starting at 5:00. Youth Night recognition will still take place between the JV and V games.

Dear Wapello Community, as most of you know, Mike Simpson has been fighting stomach cancer for over two years. Unfortunately, last night, he succumbed to the disease. Please reach out to your loved ones at the school and in the community who loved Mike dearly and make sure they know you are there for them. At this time, services have not been set. But we will let you know when they are. Keep Mike and his family in your thoughts and your prayers as he was a beloved member of the WHS staff. WCS Administration and Staff

Its GAME DAY for our Junior High Volleyball team. They will be at home tonight taking on the WMU Wolves. The games will begin at 4:30PM in the practice gym. Good Luck, Arrows!

September is National Suicide Prevention Month. Next week, September 21-25, will be mental health awareness and the Gray Matters Collective kickoff week! We encourage junior high and high school students to participate in our dress up days! If you have any questions about the Gray Matters Collective, please reach out to Mrs. Bartenhagen, Mrs. Swope or Ms. Clark.
The Arrows will take on the Hillcrest Ravens at home tonight in a conference match up. The games will begin at 5pm with Fresh/Soph. JV and varsity will follow. Between the JV and varsity games we will host youth night to recognize our young athletes. Go Arrows!
