At their October 9 meeting, the board will be discussing their next steps in their exploration of potentially switching to 4-day school weeks. Options being discussed will include, future listening sessions, full board discussions during open meetings, and opportunities for groups of parents to meet with representatives of the current exploratory committee. The Wapello Community School District Board of Directors will meet on Tuesday, October 1, at 7:00 p.m. at the Wapello High School Auditorium for a special meeting. This meeting will be a public comment forum for stakeholders to give feedback for or against a four-day school week that is being considered. The format for the listening session will be as follows: 1. Anyone wishing to address the board must sign in before the meeting begins. 2. Individuals addressing the board will be limited to 3 minutes. 3. Individuals may address the board a maximum of 2 times if time allows. This is meant to be an opportunity for the public to express thoughts/concerns to the board. Since this is a listening session, the board will not respond or engage in any discussions.
