Wapello Family,
As you may be aware, there has been an incident of school violence this morning at Perry High School, which is in a community just outside of Des Moines. While the details are not yet clear, our thoughts are with the students, staff, and families of Perry at this time.
We want our families to know that we are in close contact with our local law enforcement officials. The incident in Perry appears to be isolated and there is no indication of an active threat to school safety here at Wapello.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Mike

Students in grades 6-12 were able to put their names in a bucket for a gift card drawing today on the last day of school before Christmas vacation. 10 JH students and 10 HS students had their names drawn at the end of the day, and were able to choose from a $10 Casey's gift card or a $10 gift card to Jamie Lynn's Coffee Shop. These students were the lucky winners. Also, two grand prize winners were drawn--Eryka Gillette for the HS and Gaige McConnell for the JH. Erika and Gaige each won a smart tv. Congratulations to all of these prize winners!
