Football, track, baseball, basketball, band, and quiz bowl have kept Ryan McDonough busy the last four years of high school. Ryan even says that he spent the most amount of time playing sports and writing papers.
Ryan credits Mr.Parsons as his most influential teacher because, “helped me tremendously grow as an athlete and as a person. From giving me advice in the weight room or on the football field to helping me get through adversity in everyday life. Mr. Parsons has been there for me.
After high school, Ryan plans to attend Upper Iowa University to continue his football career and major in Exercise Science. Upon graduation from Upper Iowa, Ryan plans to attend Palmer College of Chiropractic to earn his Doctor of Chiropractic degree.
Ryan’s advice to underclassmen is to “Take today as an opportunity because yesterday won’t happen again.”
Congratulations, Ryan!

“Do stuff you wouldn’t usually do and cherish time with friends,” are words of wisdom from graduating senior, Garret Dickey.
Garret is the son of Gary and Michelle Dickey. During high school, Garret was active in band, cross country, and wrestling for four years; soccer for three years; and track for one year. Garret claims he spent most of his time in high school wrestling.
Ms. Eakins is who had the biggest impact on Garret during his school years because she is awesome. After graduation, Garret plans to attend a two year college.
Way to go, Garret!

Chill out - everything will work out in the end are words that senior Elizabeth Maine has lived by during her time in high school. Extra-curricular activities have kept Elizabeth busy during her four years at WHS, even though she says she spent the most time playing on her phone! Elizabeth was involved in pom squad, football cheer, drama, and student council for four years; track and band for three years; speech for two years; and choir for one year.
The daughter of Shawn and Melissa Maine, Elizabeth is committed to Mount Mercy University as a member of the dance team and she plans to pursue a degree in Secondary Education with an endorsement in mathematics. Elizabeth credits Mrs. Marshall as having the biggest impact on her school career because she inspired her to become a teacher!
When asked for a quote for the yearbook, Elizabeth says, “You had the power all along, my dear,” referencing Glinda the Good Witch.
Best of luck to you, Elizabeth!
