
Thomas Warnstaff is the son of Jeff Warnstaff and Amanda Harris. Throughout high school, Thomas says that Mr. Murray was his favorite teacher because “he tells it how it is.”
Thomas participated in track and field at WHS and plans to attend Southeastern Community College in the Construction Technology Program.
Thomas tells the underclassmen to “not take things too seriously and don’t be afraid to take a break when you need it.”

Graduating senior, Kirstin Bueker is the daughter of Bobbi Jo Garza. Her advice to underclassmen is to “do your homework, dudes!” Throughout her high school career, Kirstin has participated in FFA, Choir (Wapetonics), drama, Art Club, GSA, stage crew, German Club, and the school/community planning committee. Kirstin also says that Ms. Bostian has been her most influential teacher because she “is understanding and has taught [her] many things.” After graduating from WHS, Kirstin plans to attend Southeastern Community College to earn her Welding Certification. Congratulations, Kirstin!


The Wapello art dept. had a good showing at the conference art show held on the SCC campus. These seven art works are now home in Wapello and on view at the Keck public library, through Wednesday. Also on view is the sixth grade ceramic aquarium scene.

“Do your work.” That is the advice Kolton Shepard has for students at WHS.
Kolton is the son of Rusty and Teri Shepard. Mr. Dunham is the teacher who influenced Kolton the most because he taught him a lot in the shop.
Kolton plans to become an electrician after graduation. Best of luck, Kolton!

Evan King is the son of Kara Halling. Evan played baseball during his time at WHS. His future plans include the union or police force.
Evan states Mr. Bohlen had the biggest impact on him during high school because, “He never gave up on me.” Evan advises underclassmen to not give Mr. Bohlen a hard time and do your best.

Jordan Paris, the son of Jason Paris and Kristen Paris, is a 2022 graduate of WHS. While in high school, Jordan was a member of the football team.
Jordan plans to attend Marshalltown Community College in the fall. He lists Mr. Dunham as his most influential teacher during high school because he taught Jordan a lot in the shop. We wish you well, Jordan!


The Wapello boys golf team will advance to play at Districts Monday at Pleasant Valley Golf Course in Iowa City after finishing 3rd at New London Sectional. Boys were led by Casey Short who shot a 91





The Wapello golf teams competed against Highland and Lone Tree at Riverside Golf course yesterday with the boys winning the triangular and were led by Cooper Garrison and the girls split and were led by Bryn Wiley





Wapello will have a two hour early dismissal tomorrow, Thursday, May 12 due to the excessive heat.

The Wapello CSD food pantry will be open Thursday, May 12th. IF there is an early out due to heat the hours will be 1:30 - 3:00. Otherwise the hours will be our regular hours from 3:45 - 5:00.
