2021 Senior Spotlight: Our next Senior is Briar David Holmes. He is the son of Brian and Tracee Holmes. Briar has been very active while in school; participating in Soccer, NHS, and Student Council for one year, FFA for two years, and Football, Basketball, Track and Baseball for four years. He also been a member of the Wapello FCA chapter for three years. After graduation, Briar plans to attend the University of Iowa to double major in business and dentistry. Briar sites Mr. Murray as the teacher who has most influenced him, because "he always pushes us in class while teaching us how to take notes that will help us in college." His message to underclassmen is to "enjoy every last minute". Congratulations Briar on your impending graduation.

2021 Senior Spotlight: Our first Senior Spotlight of 2021 is Trinity Warnstaff. Trinity is the daughter of Chad and Karie Warnstaff. She has spent her time at Wapello involved in Drama for two years, Golf for three, and has been a member of the Art Club for four years. Trinity's plans after graduation include attending SCC to complete her AA, on her way to a business degree. She will also continue to work at the nursing home. When asked which staff member has made the biggest impact on her she said Mrs. Gerot, because "[she] has pushed me outside of my box multiple times and always believed in me. She makes sure that I am at my full potential." Her advice for underclassmen is to "honestly, just try and get along with your teacher. Being friendly to your teacher can change your life, whether for a good grade you need or just to have someone always in your corner if you need something." Congratulations to Trinity Warnstaff as she nears her graduation celebration!

2021 Senior Spotlight: Our final Senior Spotlight for April 26th is Courtney Marie Matthews. She is the daughter of Dave and Rebecca Matthews. While at Wapello, Courtney has participated in Volleyball, Wrestling Cheerleading, Track, Band for four years. She has also been involved in Drama for two years, and was inducted onto NHS for two years. After graduation, Courtney plans to attend Wartburg College where she will major in Pre-Physical Therapy. The teacher who has made the biggest impact on her is Ms. Bostian, because "I don’t think I could have gotten through high school without her. She is my rock and support system. She gets me through everyday and helps me with anything I ask. She brings so much love and happiness into my life and high school would not be the same without her. " Courtney would like the underclassmen to "please work ahead if you can. There is never time for procrastinating even if you think there is. Also, Mr. Brown is afraid of cows so use that to your advantage." Congratulations and best wishes to Courtney on her upcoming graduation!!
