SCHEDULE CHANGE: Friday's (1/21) JV girls and boys basketball games vs Highland have been rescheduled to Monday, Jan. 31st beginning at 6:00 pm (boys at 7:30 roughly). Friday Jan. 21st will be Varsity Girls at 6:00 pm followed by Varsity Boys at 7:30 (estimated time).

Due to forecasted wind chills, Wapello will be 2 hours late tomorrow, January 20. Breakfast will be served in both buildings.
Here is an update on the Youth Cheer Clinic that was postponed last week due to the weather.
The Hillcrest game has been reschedule to Monday, January 24th. The game will start around 7:30 and we will line up the girls 2 minutes before halftime in the cafeteria. Please let me know if you have any questions, jordan.kruse@wapellocsd.org

RESCHEDULED ACTIVITIES: the Varsity Wrestling Tournament at WACO has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 18th at 4:00 pm. The JV B & V G/B Basketball vs Hillcrest Academy have been rescheduled for Monday, Jan. 24th beginning at 4:30 pm (JV Boys). All games will be in the main gym.

This evening, January 14th, AJ Ponce will be landing in Chicago at 5pm. AJ’s family and the Patriot Guard, are going to drive his body home. Friends of AJ are asking for community support.
It is an estimated 4 hour drive from Chicago to Wapello, and given the weather forecast for tonight, it may very well be a longer trip from Chicago to Wapello.
Friend’s are asking that the community line up along the highway, park safely, and show their support to the family. For the safety of everyone, please do not park on the shoulder of the highway, there are plenty of places between Wapello’s north side and the Franklin Street turnoff. Backyard Buildings, Lathrop’s Outdoors, Sal Vitale’s, the former Wapello Sale Barn, the Historical Society Museum, Farmer’s Elevator, Wapello High School, or the Louisa County Courthouse, would be good locations to show your support to the family. If you have a candle to light, please bring it with you, if you do not, please use the flashlight on your smartphone.
Updates will be posted on social media, there are multiple people coordinating this effort that will be updating throughout the evening.
