It is another busy week of activities here at Wapello Community Schools. Here is a snapshot of this week's activities as we have them scheduled at this time. Any changes made to the schedule for this week will be communicated on our website and social media channels.

Tuesday (12/7) night, the HS Wrestling team will travel to Ft. Madison to take on Mediapolis, Burlington and Ft. Madison beginning at 5:30 pm. The JH Wrestling team will also be on the road to WACO beginning at 4:30 pm, in a rescheduled matchup. Thursday (12/9) will be HS Wrestling to Cardinal in a double dual with Cardinal and WACO beginning at 6:00 pm.


The Indians Basketball team have added a game to the schedule for this weekend. The Indians varsity team will travel to Danville High School for a 2:00 p.m. tipoff with the Bears. This will be a Varsity only game, there will not be a JV game.

The Wapello CSD Board of Directors will meet for their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. at the Central Administration Board Room. Ladies and Gentlemen - Wapello High School is proud to announce our newest STATE CHAMPION TEAM! The Arrows Pom Squad competed at the ISDTA State Championships on December 1, 2021, and brought home some hardware!
The State Champion Arrows Pom Squad captured the State Championship Trophy in the Novelty Class. They also brought home the 3rd place trophy in the Poms Category.
Pictured with the State Champion Trophy from in the front row from L to R - Liby Shafer, Emma Schoonover, Coach Hannah Stewart, Evelyn Peck, and Carley Maine. In the back row from L to R - Elizabeth Maine, Alexis Tomson, Madelyn Lanz, Allison Brotherton, and Addison Peck.
In addition to the team competition, there were two individuals that competed in the individual competition. Elizabeth Maine placed 10th and Emma Schoonover placed 13, respectively.

The Quad-City Times has announced their All-Eastern Iowa Volleyball Team selections, and once again, the Wapello Arrows are well represented for this post-season honor!
Lindsy Massner was named as a First Team selection as a Middle Hitter. Serah Shafer joins her as a First Team selection as a Setter/Defensive Specialist.
Emily Hemphill, Patricia Hank, and Morgan Richenberger were all named to the Honorable Mention 2021 team.
Congratulations to these Wapello Arrows on some more 2021 post-season honors from the 2021 season!

The 2021 Muscatine Journal All-Area Volleyball Team has been announced. The Wapello Arrows had two members named to this post-season honor. Lindsy Massner was named a 2nd Team selection as an Outside/Middle Hitter. Serah Shafer was also named as a 2nd Team Selection as a Setter and a Defensive Specialist. Help us to congratulate Lindsy and Serah on another post-season honor for the 2021 season!

We have some more post season honors for members of the Wapello Arrows Volleyball team to share! The Burlington Hawkeye announced the All Hawkeye Team for 2021 and there were three Wapello Arrows named to this team. Lindsy Massner was named as a First Team selection as a Hitter. Serah Shafer and Emily Hemphill were named to the Honorable Mention Team for 2021. Congratulations ladies on this honor!

The Quad City Times has announced their 2021 All-Eastern Iowa Football Team. The Wapello Indians are well represented on this Post-Season honor for area football players.
Four Wapello Indians were named as First Team Selections. Maddox Griffin as a Wide Receiver, Tade Parsons as a Utility Player, Jake Gustison as a Running Back, and Ryan McDonough as a Defensive Lineman.
The Indians were represented by two members being named to the Second Team Defense. Macuen West was selected as a Linebacker and Caleb Ealey as a Utility Player.
The Honorable Mention team saw four Wapello Indians named as selections. Hunter Hewitt, Owen Housman, Tate Kronfeldt, and Daniel Perez.
Congratulations to these Wapello Indians for their hard work and dedication durning the 2021 season.

The Burlington Hawkeye has announced their 2021 All-Hawkeye Football Team.
The Wapello Indians are well represented with selections to the team from the 2021 season. Four players were named to the First Team and three players to the Honorable Mention Team.
First Team Selections - Maddox Griffin was named as a Wide Receiver, Tade Parsons as Quarterback, Ryan McDonough as Offensive Line, and Caleb Ealey as Utility on the Defensive Team.
Honorable Mention Selections - Jake Gustison, Owen Housman, and Daniel Perez.

The Muscatine Journal has announced their 2021 All-Area Football Team Selections. The Wapello Indians had seven members from the 2021 team that were named as members of the 2021 All-Area Team.
On offense, Maddox Griffin was named as a Wide Receiver, Tade Parsons as Quarterback, Jake Gustison as Running Back, and Macuen West as Offensive Utility.
On defense, Ryan McDonough was named as a Defensive Lineman, Caleb Ealey as a Linebacker, and Daniel Perez as a specialist.
Congratulations to these Wapello Indians for these post-season honors. Hard work on the field has paid off!

V Girls and Boys Basketball for Tuesday, Nov. 30th has been CANCELLED due to the inability to find officials for the games. The district uses a third party to schedule athletic officials and this game was unable to be filled by our scheduling agency.
The Varsity Girls will tip off vs Columbus at 6:00, followed by the Varsity Boys. The Pep Band will be playing, and the Pom Squad will perform at halftime of the boy's game. Then stick around for the Pom Squad Send-Off after the games.
