April 8, 2020 Update
Happy Wednesday, everyone!
In her press conference today, Governor Reynolds had no new information regarding school closure. She has told school leaders that any school announcements will come with at least two weeks' advanced notice.
Please remember that tonight's board meeting will be at 6:00 in the auditorium. The meeting will be livestreamed, so please, please, please watch the movie from the comfort of your own home. We will publish a number that patrons can use if they would like to call in any comments during the public hearings.
You know what's coming next...
Wash your hands.
Cover your cough.
Wash your hands.
Stay home if you are sick.
Wash your hands.
Practice social distancing.
Wash your hands.

April 7, 2020 Update
In her press conference today, Governor Reynolds paid tribute to our National Guard members and highlighted the work they are doing to help during the COVID-19 pandemic. They are one of the many, many groups who are doing everything they can to help us through this crisis.
Today was Day 2 of digital office hours. We realized that many of the high school office hours overlap. Mr. Bohlen is working to fix that problem.
Wapello's board meeting will be tomorrow at 6:00 in the Auditorium. It will be livestreamed. PLEASE...I strongly encourage people to watch the board meeting from home, rather than attend in person. We will post a phone number people can use to call in for questions or comments. It won't be a perfect system, but we will make it work in order to maximize safety. Thank you in advance!
Remember the rules.
Wash your hands.
Cover your cough.
Wash your hands.
Stay home if you are sick.
Wash your hands.
Practice social distancing.
Wash your hands.

Mrs. Ruth was so happy to see a lot of her 4th Graders join in for our first Zoom session! ☺️
So much fun!!! I love how technology allows us to connect during this time. Can’t wait til the next!
April 6, 2020 Update:
Governor Reynolds held a press conference this morning, during which she announced an extended list of businesses that will be closed until the end of the month. She also indicated that law enforcement officials will have the ability to ticket people who continue to gather in large groups.
Today was the first day of digital office hours for some of the staff. Whenever you try something new, there will be successes and there will be failures. That's all a part of learning. Zoom meeting information for students in grades 6-12 will be sent to individual student school email accounts. For elementary students, Zoom meeting information will be sent to parents directly. Our goal is to avoid putting Zoom links and passwords out for everyone in the world to see. As I said earlier, we are learning...
As always, the Governor stressed the importance of following the guidelines put out by the CDC and public health:
Wash your hands.
Cover your cough.
Stay home if you are sick.
Wash your hands.
Practice social distancing.
Wash your hands.
Please let me know if you have any questions. I may not know the answer right now, but I will find it out and send it out in a future update.

April 3, 2020 Update:
After yesterday's announcement by Governor Reynolds, today hasn't had much in the way of new school-related developments. Please take a look at the previous post explaining the differences between "Required" and "Voluntary" continuous learning options.
On behalf of the district, I would like to extend a heartfelt "Thank You" to the community for all of the support that has been expressed. We are trying to reconfigure operations on the fly. We will have some successes. We will have some failures. It's all a part of learning something new.
Everybody say it with me now...
Wash your hands.
Cover your cough.
Wash your hands.
Stay home if you are sick.
Wash your hands.
Practice social distancing.
Wash your hands.
I hope everyone is able to enjoy the weekend. Take care.
