Please be advised: the Student Council Blood Drive that was planned for Thurs. March 19th will now be held at the Briggs Center and will be a community blood drive. The Mississippi Valley Blood center will be the host (not the school). Times remain the same 7-12. Questions can be directed to MVBC at Phone (319) 208-0158, or at their website: www.bloodcenter.org

The Wapello CSD Board of Directors will meet on Wednesday evening for their regular monthly meeting. This meeting will be held at 6:00 at the WHS Auditorium (note change of location). Elementary Food Bank will be open Thursday, March 19, with the same hours of operation, from 3:30-5:30. Due to safety concerns from the COVID-19 Virus, following guidelines and recommendations given by the Food Bank of Iowa for the safety of those working and for those picking up food, we will be operating with a few changes during this time. Please call the Elementary Office at 319-523-5571 anytime between now and Thursday at Noon if you are planning on coming. Please call before Noon on March 19th and let us know your name and the number of people in your household. Leave a message with this information if after hours. On Thursday evening, we will meet you at your vehicle in the front of the building and give you an assortment of food items. Everyone will receive a similar assortment of food based on what we have available. This is for the Elementary Location. This is our best effort to continue to provide this service, while keeping the safety of the public and the volunteers in mind. Please call with any questions. All Wapello Junior High and High School Spring activities have of the IHSAA (IAHSAA, IGHSAU, IHSMA, IHSSA) will be suspended through the recommended 4 week closure. https://www.ighsau.org/news/school-closures-suspend-iowa-high-school-spring-activities/

Governor Reynolds has closed all Iowa schools for 4 weeks. No students or staff in the buildings tomorrow. We will be developing a plan and will be communicating details as they are finalized. Stay tuned. Thanks for your patience as we enter uncharted territory.

TONIGHT is the WHS Pom Squad’s annual Spring Fling show! The show will feature the Wapello High School Pom Squad, the Louisa-Muscatine Dance Team, several troupes from Momentum Dance of Muscatine and of course, the always popular WHS Co-Ed dance team. Show starts at 7:00 p.m. in the HS gym. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Admission is a free will donation. This is guaranteed to be a great show! Come out and support our dancers in their last performances of the season! #wearewapello #wapellotribepride
